JACLYN E. JONES
Jaclyn E. Jones was born in Columbus, Ohio and grew up in Ohio and the Tampa Bay Area. She returned to Ohio to attend The Ohio State University. After graduating with dual degrees from Ohio State, she attended Florida Coastal School of Law, graduating in 2011 with Pro Bono Honors. While at Florida Coastal, Ms. Jones clerked for the Honorable Circuit Court Judge, Elizabeth A. Senterfitt. After her graduation, Ms. Jones worked for a national law firm litigating property, creditor’s rights, and title disputes on behalf of national banking institutions before deciding to transition to defending healthcare providers. Prior to joining the firm in 2017, Ms. Jones previously worked for another prominent Tampa Bay firm, practicing medical malpractice, medical products liability and long-term care defense. She has also served as associate general counsel to several health care providers and corporations. Ms. Jones is licensed to practice in the State of Florida and the United States District Courts for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida.
At Beytin McLaughlin, Ms. Jones focuses her practice on medical malpractice, long term care, auto negligence and general liability claims. She regularly represents physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other health care providers in medical malpractice litigation. She also handles the defense of personal injury claims, first party insurance claims, and auto negligence. She is a member of the Defense Research Institute, Hillsborough Bar Association and Hillsborough Association of Women Lawyers. Ms. Jones is a mentor in the Hillsborough Association of Women’s Lawyers Mentor/Mentee Program and is the co-author of a philosophical legal and ethics blog, The Virtuous Lawyer. Ms. Jones is also conversational in German, having studied abroad in Germany.
