JOHN W. BOCCHINO
John W. Bocchino was born in Queens, New York on August 20, 1959. He then moved to Florida and obtained his High School degree from Haines City High School in Polk County. Thereafter he attended Florida State University and secured a degree in Criminology with high honors along with minors in History and Psychology in 1981.
Upon completion of College John worked for a year to earn sufficient money to go to Law School and returned to Florida State University and obtained a Law Degree from Florida State University College of Law in 1985, with honors.
After obtaining his Law Degree John sought out trial work and took a position as an Assistant State Attorney in the Ninth Judicial Circuit, in Kissimmee, Florida, where he tried over twenty cases to verdict until he departed that position in 1986. He was employed by a Defense Firm representing Hospitals in the Orlando area, Adams, Hill, Fulford & Morgan, where he remained for three years working on a variety of health care related cases including negligence cases, antitrust and administrative matters. In 1989 he accepted an associate position with the Law Firm of Bobo, Spicer, Ciotoli and Neu in West Palm Beach.
In 1992 John was offered partnership and became a shareholder in the Law Firm and its’ name was changed to Bobo, Spicer, Ciotoli, Fulford, Bocchino, Debevoise and Leclainche. Besides being the Law Firm with the longest name in the State of Florida, it was a Law Firm that handled a wide variety of insurance defense claims based upon allegations of negligence in the areas of Medical, Automobile, Commercial Carrier, Trucking, Premises Liability, Property, Medical Research and Human Remains and Law Enforcement, as well as a vast array of Administrative Actions. He remained with that firm until 2014 and over that time period opened and managed their branch office in Orlando.
In the year 2014 John joined the Law Firm of Beytin, McLaughlin, McLaughlin, O’Hara, Bocchino & Bolin and has continued to practice in the same areas of Law. He has tried over 30 cases to verdict over his career, many of which were Medical Negligence claims. He has been voted Super Lawyer and America and Florida’s Best Lawyers by his peers.
He has made numerous presentations and was a contributing author to the Florida Medical Association Physician’s Desk Reference Handbook with former partner Donald Weidner. One prevalent belief that John holds that drives him even today is the thought and belief that “Defendants have a right to an attorney that will fight on their behalf every bit as much as does a Plaintiff”.
He has handled and tried cases from the Florida Panhandle to Fort Lauderdale to Southwest Florida. He currently splits his time in representation of individual insured and institutional clients. He continues to reside in the Orlando area with his wife Gloria and children.
