Overview

John W. Bocchino was born in Queens, New York and relocated to Florida during high school. He graduated from Haines City High School in Polk County and attended Florida State University. After graduating from Florida State University in 1981 he returned to Tallahassee and obtained a Juris Doctorate in 1985 from Florida State University College of Law with Honors. He took the Florida Bar examination and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1985. John has been a partner in two Insurance Defense firms during his career, having opened an Orlando branch of the Bobo, Ciotoli firm of West Palm Beach.

John has principally practiced in the area of healthcare law with a heavy focus on medical negligence trial work having tried over 60 such cases to verdict. He additionally has represented various healthcare providers in administrative investigations and claims throughout his career. He has represented many providers and institutions throughout the State of Florida including individual practices, outpatient facilities and hospitals.

In addition to his practice in healthcare, John has also handled commercial litigation, trucking, automobile, contracts, coverage disputes, and premises liability cases throughout his career. He has repeatedly been selected amongst the Best Lawyers in his field since 2015, was selected Lawyer of the Year in 2020 and been asked at times to sit as an arbitrator in alternative dispute matters. He has lectured to insurance, claims, and risk management organizations over the years as well as groups of healthcare providers and business owners.

He lives in Orlando with his wife Gloria, has three children and a bevy of four legged friends. He enjoys travel with his wife, sports, military history and collecting sports memorabilia.
