JOSEPH F. KINMAN, JR.
JOSEPH “SKOOTER” KINMAN graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.S. in Biology, and from Mercer Law School where he was a member of the Moot Court Team and the Law Review. He attended Oxford University in Oxford, England and after receiving his J.D. in 1981 accepted a two-year clerkship with Chief Judge William T. Hodges of the Middle District of Florida. He is admitted to practice in all Florida State Courts, the United States District Court for the Middle Districts of Florida and Georgia, and the Eleventh Circuit United States Court of Appeals.
Mr. Kinman is Board Certified in Civil Trial by both The Florida Bar as well as the National Board of Trial Advocacy, is AV Rated by Martindale Hubbell. He is Past President of the American Board of Trial Advocates, Tampa Bay Chapter, and is Past Chair of The Florida Bar Trial Lawyers Section. Mr. Kinman has been the Chairman of the 13th Circuit Judicial Nominating Committee and has served as Chairman of numerous Florida Bar Grievance Committees. He was elected to the Florida Bar Board of Governors, Young Lawyers Division and the Hillsborough County Young Lawyers Board of Directors. He has served as Vice-Chair of The Florida Bar’s Civil Trial Certification Committee, Chair of the Florida Bar Journal Editorial Board, and is currently serving on the Board of Legal Special Education Committee.
Mr. Kinman practices primarily in the areas of medical malpractice defense, auto casualty, UM, premises liability and general civil trial law.
